A book about loving yourself again.

Faceless - Alyssa Sheinmel

I'm almost certain my eyes lived in pools of tears through this whole book. If it wasn't sad, it was the happy kind of sad. However, I also cry at commercial's that show compassion... so most likely you won't cry as much as I did.

Normally as a reader I shy away from any book that is "sad" but I don't think you should shy away from this book. It was very touching and left a mark that I want to keep with me. I've only heard of a face transplant in passing before and when I read the back of this book, I didn't think about it like that. I thought of it as some other worldly paranormal thing. But it isn't paranormal at all, it's very real. Alyssa Sheinmel does an excellent job of letting the reader experience first hand how to grieve and move forward.

The only thing I didn't like about the book but came to understand later is why she pushes her boyfriend away. Though this has romance in it, it is not a romantic book. This book is about learning to love yourself even after a horrible, disfiguring accident.

Plagued: The Midamerica Zombie Half-Breed Experiment - Evan Ramspott

Pretty awesome zombie book and a quick read

Amazing book

Cress - Marissa Meyer

omg I'm going to have to wait a year for the next book... or longer.
How can I possibly wait that long!
Well as you can imagine this book was amazing.

Cliffhanger...

Endless Knight - Kresley Cole

UGH! How could she leave it there? The only thing I despise about these books is how they end in mid story. She is like, here is the cliff... oh you're falling? Okay the book ends now. I mean gosh! What is going to happen!!!!? Also how did Kresley make me like Aric so much? Yet again, I said that about Jack in the first book.

Red Wolf

Red Wolf - Linda Thomas-Sundstrom

I was lucky enough to meet the author, Linda at a conference where she talked about her work and from there I picked up "Red Wolf." Great writing! This book took me awhile to read but only because it was my traveling book (as in, it lives in my purse for when I'm out and about) which worked well because it was very easy to pick up and get back into the story. The last four chapters were my favorite.

Favorite.

Dreams of Gods & Monsters - Laini Taylor

It is not everyday that one comes across such amazing work. I am so in love with this series. I want blue hair. I have wanted blue hair with each of the 3 books and I’m not sure what it is about Laini Taylor and her whimsical, complete and enchanting writing but it just gets better. I feel so insanely lucky that just two weeks ago I got to (finally) meet her in person.

“A Butterfly in a Bottle” was my favorite chapter.

Ziri was adorable and Liraz became a favorite in this book.

Seriously, the sentence following this one, “Ziri could, of course, not understand what they said, but the note of victory was plain, as was the pure, delirious joy.” Not going to put the sentence because it will spoil it for anyone who reads this! But it is on page 548.

Other favorite line: “Oh my god! All the mountains look the same!”

I couldn’t have pictured this more clearly and I loved it.

Overall I need a new word for favorite.

So... even though Ziri, Liraz, Mik, and Zuzana made up my favorite scenes, it really can not compare to the full love of the completeness of this book (Karou and Akiva are so adorable)! I’m sad that it is over, but right now I’m all crazily in the world created by Laini Taylor and I just want it to last and last and last.

Fun Read.

Demon in My View - Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

This was a really fun book. Very fast read, quick paced. I read this book because my best friend recommended it. It was the first vampire book she ever read and I have to say, I put it off for about 6 months but I'm glad I finally read it. This book is seriously like a 2-3 hour read. I wish there was more. It could have easily been 500 pages instead of 200.

Great Read.

Spelled (Amethyst, #1) - Kate St. Clair

I enjoy fun, short reads. This novella was exactly that!

I love how the opening chapter slowly is revealed throughout the book, especially at the end! Besides that opening chapter, "Spelled" starts pretty normal and that works so well because you really get to know the characters and then there is this smooth transition into the witch aspect that feels very natural.

First off, Luke was adorable of course!

Gosh I need to make some Cinnamon-sugar cake and I wish Luke's Aunt and Uncles restaurant was down the street! Oh and I wish there really was magic tea.

I thought Kate St. Clair did a great job at bring the reading into the story, the dialog felt very real and natural. I enjoyed the characters she created and the plot flowed very smoothly.

My only complaint is the size font of the book, it has to be size 10? Gosh hard on the eyes.
